Jean-Louis Michelet has more than 30 years of international experience in finance, audit, mergers & acquisitions, and consulting, with a particular emphasis on technology over the past 20 years and experience of the Asia-Pacific region over the past 10 years. Throughout his career, Jean-Louis has been in charge of both top posts at large international corporations and start-ups and developing IT companies.
Jean-Louis started his career at Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (the largest French government-controlled financial institution), working for several of its international engineering subsidiaries. He joined the Darty Group (a leading retailer in Europe) in 1979 as Chief Auditor then Finance Director of a newly-created subsidiary covering Southern France. In 1985, he was appointed Vice-President at SCOA, an international trading group with operations in Europe, Africa, Asia and North-America, in charge of budget & control.
Three years later, he joined Capgemini to become Group Vice-President, Corporate Development, in charge of mergers & acquisitions and strategic partnerships. In 1996, Jean-Louis moved to Singapore to launch Capgemini Asia. In 1999, he created in Singapore ICUS, a specialist of corporate eLearning. Five years later, after expanding into Europe and Australia, ICUS was integrated into the ITVEST Group, an international group focusing on IT offshore outsourcing and technology-enabled human capital development solutions. 2005 saw the creation of ITVEST Consulting, a Singapore-based subsidiary focusing on helping non-Asian technology companies expand their business into Asia by providing them with a seamless combination of business development services and technical assistance.
Jean-Louis holds an MBA degree from top French business school ESSEC.
Jean-Louis is a past Deputy Chairman of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce, President of the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and Vice-President of the European Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.
